AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY CANCER ACTION NETWORK

The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) helps to fight back against cancer by advocating through the use of campaigns, including cancer research funding, access to care, and patient quality of life.

Through this organization, some of our members received the opportunity to meet with lawmakers at the 2015 Minnesotans for Healthy Kids Day at the Capital in March 2015.

Congratulations to our ACS CAN members! You helped the University of Minnesota become the first ACS CAN club event in the entire United States! This program highlights the universities' commitment to advocacy. To continue the trend for advocacy, be sure to sign the One Degree project petition to ask Congress for a $1 billion increase to cancer research funding! Next semester, we will be lobbying the State of Minnesota for cancer related issues related to children! If you have any questions on how to contact your legislators, please feel free to ask.
