Relay for Life of the University of Minnesota works to raise money for the American Cancer Society, which provides emotional and financial support for cancer patients through the financing of programs as well as life-saving research. Relay is a 12-hour relay style walk-a-thon.

What happens at Relay for Life?
Team members walk laps around the track in order to represent that the fight against cancer never stops. We also provide entertainment through performances and games and activities.

Where does the money go?
All donations go directly to the American Cancer Society (ACS). The ACS raises over $360 million each year and uses the funds to sponsor cancer research and to support cancer patients undergoing treatment.
What is the American Cancer Society (ACS)?
For over 100 years, the ACS has relentlessly worked to save lives and to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. ACS helps people get well and stay well, find cures, and fight back against cancer. After the government, the ACS is the second largest funder of cancer researcher.
